Oh, well played, sir. Well played, indeed.

Actually, Xenophon's "Anabasis".

For Christmas many years back, I gave my sister a copy of "The Medicine of ER", a non-fiction book about how the TV series compares with real emergency medicine.

Nailed it in one, Juanito. "Bob's Burgers" is an ugly moronic show that should be on this year's "Worst" list. The only thing more mystifying than the continued existence of this show is why the AV Club continues trying to ram it down people's throats.

My recollection is that they weren't "hippies", per se, but a couple of small-time crooks who had shot and critically wounded a police officer.

I do. I liked Mike Post's remixed version of the theme, and the first eight or nine episodes. I gave up on the series after that; I think after Ethan Embry left (under, as I recall, odd circumstances) it just seemed to get dumber.

I'd like to put in a plug for Max Watman's wonderful book about contemporary moonshine, "Chasing the White Dog".
