I don't know. I imagine that Zhao got permission to attack the Northern Water Tribe by arguing that the Avatar was clearly headed to the Northern Water Tribe, and here's a plan to defeat them all in one fell swoop. Without the Avatar, I don't think that sense of urgency would have existed. Hadn't it been like 80 years…
I agree with this comment, but I will take issue with this rhetorical question: "But how does capturing the Avatar in the pilot help Zuko become a good Fire Lord?"

So I was listening to "What Dreams Are Made Of," and I started wondering why more rappers don't sample Ric Flair. You'd think the kind of shit-talking that Flair excelled in would be a natural fit for most rap music.
