Toyota has a long history of overcharging for underperforming cars. And they always come up with the esoteric excuses about the subtleties of the handling or whatever, that most regular drivers would never notice.

2021 is the 15th year for the IS on the Toyota N platform. So by the time the Lexus/Mazda comes along, this car will be pushing 20 years with the same chassis and engine/transmission. Only Toyota can get away with this.

How about manufacturers including a plate bracket on the car? When I sold new Hyundais, many didn’t have front plate brackets at all, just 2 dimples in the front bumper that I had to puncture with a screwdriver right in front of the new buyer.
We just saw insurance companies deny claims to pandemic policies because COVID-19 wasn’t a “named disease.” Of course not! Every new coronavirus gets a new name. So I don’t put it past them to deny upcoming claims and make the businesses fight for their money.
