The fiction the apps have created is that the passengers are the driver’s customers, and the drivers pay a service fee to the apps for connecting the drivers and passengers. Drivers should be able to know what the service fee was for each driver/passenger connection.

Drivers are taxed on the total gross revenue of the fares, and the “service fees” driver’s pay to the apps are considered deductible expenses on their taxes. The entire premise of the ride share independent contractor model is that drivers are paying the apps for the service of connecting them with passengers. Drivers

Perhaps some aromatherapy to lightly tranquilize people

Yes. Order some take out and wait for the bike delivery guy to get there.

BMW took a page from GM’s model development playbook when they designed the i3 and i8: make expensive, oddly styled and functionally compromised vehicles, watch them not sell, then blame the cars themselves and cancel them.

The dealer wouldn’t care if you walked out. People who know their numbers and credit score are unprofitable. They’d be happy to have someone they just gave a low profit deal to up and leave, so they can gouge the next person.

They could start with a new platform for sure. Most Infiniti models are built on the old FM platform which came out in like 2001. How many times can you reskin the same car? Infiniti is rivaling Old GM in that regard.

What are the Continuation cars? Are they restored original cars, are they built with new old stock, or are they brand new reproductions? Are they modernized in any way?

This is clearly not ready for prime time. It’s nothing more than a party trick at this point. And shouldn’t the hazard lights be on when it is driving itself??

But are you going to double your monthly payment and extend the term to get that bigger vehicle?

So the median income family can afford a $19k car. Coincidentally that’s pretty much the base price of most compact sedans these days. So families DON’T have to bury themselves in debt to get a new car, they are just choosing to.

I was just coming here to type this exact comment. People are hell bent on buying crossovers, and contorting their finances to do it no matter what. Excellent, much less expensive cars are still readily available. People are so deranged that they are buying terrible vehicles like the Ford Ecosport and Buick Encore

So looking at the example photo of the car hauler trailer, we are at the point where a personal use pick up truck can tow about 80% of what a full size semi can.

I know people just have to sue for everything these days, but COME ON. You’re riding in a classic car, which never had modern safety equipment. Are there even shops that will retrofit airbags into old cars?! And what if they can do that? The car’s crash structure is still vintage. There’s simply no way to bring a

As for the lease over miles, go find an SUV for your wife that offers big discounts. Trade the Honda in on it, and use the rebates and discounts of the new vehicle to help offset the overage. Of course, this may involve getting something that you might not otherwise want (like getting a Chevy Equinox instead of a

How do you define “price?” Is the price the per mile and per minute rates listed on the rate card? Or is the price the actual amount the customer pays? Prior to “upfront pricing,” the driver set the actual amount the customer paid simply by the act of driving. Different drivers could drive different routes to the same

Instead of making fake V8s with their 4 cylinder Mustangs, why doesn’t Ford make the Ecoboost it’s own separate car? Let’s have a free revving (7500-8000rpm) zinger of a motor. Who cares about the torque? Make it sing!

An article about airplane seating needs to be turned into a backhanded slam on Trump? Not everything has to do with the Orange One.

Hosuing issues are very local. In some areas it’s restrictive zoning laws. in others it’s land values. In others it is obtuse building codes. A solution might be to improve job prospects in our smaller cities, to reduce housing demand in our large cities.

Single family homes are now being bought up en mass by large corporations to turn them into rentals. This is driving up prices and keeping people out of the market.
