A logical suggestion, but people who sign up for 85 month 8% $900/month car loans typically don’t have the long term vision to see it through.

The routes Uber suggests for drivers are rarely optimal routes, unless passengers would enjoy being dropped off on the side of the highway instead of at their actual destination near the highway.

So at the $1 per mile rate in my area, that’s an extra $.33 before Uber’s 25% cut. So the driver gets and extra $.25. That does seem catastrophic. What thieves!

A 5% difference in the route on a 1-2 mile ride will still make the trip a minimum fare ride, so the driver is getting nothing extra for the additional time it took.
