I’m all for promoting the sport that I was part of for over 20 years as great exercise, but there needs to be a message about all of the subtle “rules” of lap swimming that beginners never know and greatly effect (towards the negative) the success of other people’s workouts.

If the overhead space above my seat is taken, then I notice its taken both fore and daft of my seat for ~5+ rows too, my reaction to that is why.
