The problem with tanking is that people tend to point out the success stories and forget the woeful reality that it can just destroy an organization. The Browns have had 26 first round draft picks since 1999. 4 of those years they had the number one overall draft pick.

Unlike Adrian Peterson, who treats children like adults into BDSM.

Remember that scene in the original Indiana Jones where he encounters his least favorite animal and sprays them with gasoline? If he had successfully set them on fire, those would have been some toasty serpents.

You know keeping track of the Cryptkeeper at this point makes me think there’s a massive oversight here: tracking the accuracy of the throwgasms. Patriots/Packers was a five last week and that feels like a massive overselling of the actual product we got. I want to start tracking how exciting these games actually are

and there’s a chance that some of the people taking pleasure at this futility aren’t Pats fans.

What’s amazing, when watching the Bills, is looking at them okay and then realizing there are multiple teams that, according to their records, are worse than them.

It was especially fitting for Price, given that he own a dog named Astro and his “players weekend” jersey has him listed as “Astro’s Dad”

I mean, maybe I’m wrong on this, but isn’t he begging the question here? He seems to imply that the failure to welcome him back is related to him leaving for mental health reasons, but it’s entirely possible that they don’t want him back because of his entire persons and reputation, isn’t it?

How can you not like a guy who, completely straight-faced, told reporters that he was hospitalized from an infected belly button ring? And got many of them to believe it! I get not liking him on THIS team, but on a neutral team, he’s just the dry-humored ace.

So I *can* get cheese in my hair. Got it.

Devers is still a work in progress. He got brought up early probably, because the Sox were dreadfully thin at third base. I was actually hoping last year the Sox would grab Freese from the Pirates instead of rushing Devers. Unsurprisingly, for me, he still went to a championship team

It’s amazing to me how damn likable the Red Sox are. Not the team as a whole, or the fan base, but if you removed the uniforms and the bad blood with other franchises, the vast majority of this team, including Alex Cora and the staff seem like genuinely fun people.

Maybe Eck just seems more enthusiastic because he comments almost entirely in a language he made up, and randomly inserts weird anecdotes from his personal life.

C’mon now. You can’t just throw Kaepernick into any offense. He’d need a team with some talent on the ground and a team that has a natural hunger, currently being let down by their quarterback. That way he’d inspire instant loyalty while having the freedom to exploit his altheticism to extend plays. Ideally, he’d be

When will people learn: teams from New England have been steeped in the culture of the area, and already hate you irrationally. There is no damn reason to give one of these teams an actual excuse to hate you.

Meh. I “hate” myself only to the point that cheering for my teams makes me boorish. That’s not as often as every Sox fan, but I’m not going to deny what absolute garbage that the fandom writ large has become with the stupidly silly (and awesome) level of success Boston sports has enjoyed.

Where oh where is the “stick to sports” crowd when you actually fucking need them?

Yeah, but it’s not like I can sit back and pretend that we don’t suck as fans. Three years ago, listening to Red Sox fans call in to sports radio and agree with the stupid-ass position that the Sox “weren’t worth watching” (they won th Championship two years prior) was the last straw for me.

Fully admit that I’m a homer, but I can’t see calling it icky that good things happen to the Red Sox (players). The fanbase, sure, we don’t deserve an actually fun team that enjoys anything, but the players? Watching the skill these players have and the amount they genuinely seem to enjoy the game is good for
