Couleuvre, France. Tiny population, beautiful old church and some good looking cows. I spent a lovely long evening in July with Hubs and one of my best friends drinking wine in the late summer dusk. Highly recommend!

Literally just got IUD #3 (Mirena, so I can’t claim no hormones) and I did it under sedation. I had to pay for it - but to me, it was completely worth it. Ask your Gyno, maybe you can work something out.

Second trip to the UK in my life - I’m all of 19. Convincing myself I am okay (I’m not), round 4 of food poisoning strikes at the underground. There are no trash cans/rubbish bins because of the IRA and I am thus forced to barf directly onto the tracks. It’s 10AM and I must look like some Yankee twat. Winner, winner

Congratulations! I'm about to go for IUD #3 this year (10 years period free!) and am already nervous about the pain. The timing of this post couldn't be better because - yeah, it hurts, and yes, there is wonkiness, but in the end it is worth it. I still champion the hell out of Mirena.

After living in the Middle East for 8 years, I've only seen it happen once (on Emirates). In the instance, I was asked to move and sit next to a young (covered) lady (instead of the dude she was next to). Didn't bother me in the slightest.

I just started Splitting the Difference: A Heart-Shaped Memoir by Tre Miller Rodriguez as research for a project. A heartbreaking and well written story of a young widow. Highly recommend.

As a resident in Abu Dhabi, I approve this message. :)

Steamy Regency era FTW! Give me my corsets and smut!

Until one of my marching novels is adapted, this will have to do. Any marching arts in the media is good!

For those of us who have published YA marching novels and hope that Drumline 2's success could lead to the adaptation of our own books to screen, yes, this is a very good thing. #cautiouslyoptimistic

'ur' = the grammar nazi in me absolutely shudders.

Living in a big ex-pat community I routinely fail at all of these. I still can't figure who kisses once, twice, or three times? I miss hugs.

Airports. Are. The. Worst. When I'm off a 14 hour flight and have to get to customs/immigration/border control, you best get your slow walking ass out of my way.

This is nothing new - the Emirates did (does?) the same thing. Even as a Western woman, Hubs got a text every time I left the country, we used to crack up about it every time.

There's a great blog for this - for YA authors writing to their younger selves. It's called Dear Teen Me. http://dearteenme.com/

Do it - I've had a Mirena (I'm on my 2nd one) and have been period free for 7 years! No issues for me. :)

Greetings from Doha (in Qatar there is a similar campaign) and I have to say I miss the UAE (my home from 2007-2011). I couldn't agree more with your statement. It does come down to respect. At the end of the day, for whatever reasons we are in the region, we are guests in the country and it doesn't take much to

Depends on what industry you are interested in. I would target the company you most want to work for and see what international office locations they have. Additionally, there are traditional job search engines: MonsterGulf (or similar). LinkedIn also has great groups / jobs available - just filter by country or

I'm already on my second. When I tell people my last period was in 2005, they can't get their heads around it. Mirena FTW!
