(pssst, that was a reference to LaRoch retiring when the Sox wouldn’t allow his kid in the clubhouse)

Pretty childish act if you ask me. Makes me wonder how he was allowed in the clubhouse for as long as it's been.

If there’s any justice, it’ll be Sale first. Anyone so stupid to say what he said about the LaRoche kid is a blithering idiot.

But it’s totally legit to be invested in pro sports, right? Asking for my dad who threw an unopened beer at me because I said Rockies should be sellers at the trade deadline

Because YOU not using physics or biology is a pretty poor predictor of whether your kids are going to need to, or more importantly want to have the option of, using physics or biology. If you want to make sure your kid is a potter, then all you need to teach him is pottery. But that’s pretty selfish, because neither

I’m not going to shit on your opinion, but it’s important to expose every kid to those concepts (just like musical arts/literature/history etc.) regardless of perceived use.

This needs to be stated. Yeah, there are shitty teachers and schools, but your average student in an average area should be going to public school. Social education aside, a teacher has more background in a subject matter than a jack-of-all-trades wannabe parent (in the majority of cases).

I can’t believe I just read all this garbage. You’re free to raise your kids how you see fit (within reason), and I’m glad it works for you. Just know you’re likely fucking your kids out of any chance of being anything other than maladjusted weirdos when they get older. And at some point they’ll figure that out and

A normal parent’s guide to homeschooling: Don’t.

My wife, an educational researcher, once wrote an opinion piece in our college newspaper criticizing homeschoolers. This article was backed up with whatever statistics she could cram into the limited word space she was allowed.

With respect, it is very weird no matter how you slice it.

Is there some kind of law that requires all home schooling parents to sound like either, End of Days apocalypse preppers, or free love my child is the most specialist snowflake types. I also find it interesting that none of the children’s names are mentioned. I know it’s for privacy reasons, but I also suspect that

This right here, kids not being around other kids is not good no matter how you want to spin it.

What happens when or if you decide you’re done homeschooling or the kids show interest in going to public school? Your kids whack-o education, behaviors, and habits will become the public school teachers problem.

Hooray, another bit of discourse in which “normal” equals “people with way more money than us.”

I made it to “art college” and decided that this is a different sort of normal than I was looking for.

My Uncle’s 2 sons were homeschooled. I respect the time and effort him and his wife put into teaching the kids, but man, my cousins are a couple little weirdos. They’re 11 and 9, but act like little maladjusted adults, it’s creepy as shit. Now they’re in normal school and have been having a hard time making friends, I

Homeschooled kids are weirdos: Please do not homeschool your children.

God, I couldn’t imagine how embarrassing that must have been. I mean, being identified as, “RealMarlinsFan”? Just kill me.
