I've only ever done that with one game: Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, on the N64. I was 13, rented the game from Blockbuster, and played all the way through it in a single sitting. The final clock showed that I beat the game in 24:06:13. I'll never forget those numbers.

I did not play the beta (because I had not pre-ordered, and by the time I found out it had turned into an open beta, there were 6 hours left and I had to work) but I like your comment. I've been on the fence with this game since day one. I loved borderlands 2 (I still play it, as recently as last night) and I really

why are any of us here!? (went philosophical on dat azz)

beta had the opposite effect on me.

no i played it. i played it to the level cap and then some, along with some of the competitive multiplayer (crucible right?) it seemed very generic. I'll admit the graphics are pretty, and the dancing is pretty hilarious especially in the right context. However, the main core game mechanics of shooting vs enemy AI

I agree. I played the beta and it was fun enough but the whole thing came across as "been there, done that" to me. Plus I find the art direction really dull. So I don't think I'm really missing anything by skipping the full game.

Yeah I cant quite put my finger on what it is, and I'm really not the pickiest when it comes to coop shooters (and I dont mind AAA shooters), but I just can't muster any excitement for this game after watching a few gameplay videos.

Off topic, but this game is reminding me why user scores on Metacritic are completely worthless.

I've played the beta and thought the exact same thing. The mechanics are good but I need more than mechanics to suck me in.

Having played the Beta I felt this game was just so bland, it tries to do what other games already do much better, for example the combat is reminiscent of Halo and Borderlands, yet doesn't do it anyway near as well, the story as far as I could tell from the Beta was horrifyingly boring, go here, plug Dinklage in,

I played the beta and came away with the same feeling. In fact, I'm glad I played the beta, because it prevented me from purchasing the game today.

So far I've spent most of my time on the screen telling you you've been disconnected from the server.

man, as much as i want something new to play, and as big a fan as i've always been of Halo and borderlands, i simply can not get over how boring and bland this game seems. :(

Unless he has $500,000 in cash, he probably got bail by staking his house. Bail like this, at least in the federal system, also usually includes several "financially responsible persons" as co-signers. Those people, usually a close relative, would be on the hook for all that money if he misses a court date. So there

I think people are getting a little butt-hurt about this issue. It was competition to create a song (singular) that would be used in a game, not like they were crowdsourcing the entire soundtrack to the whole game. Hell if I had the programs/equipment to do a song for a video game and enter it into a competition in

How is that exploitative? It's a contest to get your work featured in a retail game. If you want to get payed, just don't participate. How is it any different than your weapon being made in Monster hunter or any other contest of that kind? I swear, people are getting angry at anything for last few months.

Exactly, it's just a cool thing to do, not a "make all our music for no pay" thing.

As long as companies aren't misleading people/are totally up-front about the reality of these sorts of contests, why not? The issue of spec work is a big thing in the design industry - and probably lots of other creative fields as well - at the moment, since it tends to devalue the work that goes into making stuff and

Recently game studio Red Thread ran a competition to include fan-made music in revered adventure revival Dreamfall Chapters. Or at least, they tried to.

I think this is a bit excessive. Having a contest for fans to get their work in a game is pretty cool. It's not exploitative in the least. :|
