To Republicans the various low rankings of Mississippi are a feature not a flaw. Keeping the majority of the people sick, poor, or hungry prevents them from organizing. It allows them to keep the majority subjugated and perpetuates power for those in power.

My opinion hasn’t changed. He’s still a weird little creep as far as I’m concerned.

Living in the South, there really is a feeling that things are starting to turn. It might not be as soon as many of us would like, but I get the feeling that Trump’s election has finally lit the progressive spark that has been needed for a generation of people.

I grew up in the Deep South. It is absolutely the case that one should not write off the region en banc; however, rest assured that the racists are currently organizing like crazy to make sure this NEVER happens again by using all means possible.

“Proofread”

This is the exact same argument people like you madewhen Tom Perez decided to run against Keith Ellison for party chair. “It doesn’t matter because they have almost the exact same beliefs.” Okay then in that case why did he run in the first place unless maybe, just maybe, they don’t actually have the exact same

He doesn’t know or care. He’s here to have a contrary opinion to anything Splinter publishes. It’s fucking sad.

The fight for the future of America is in the Democratic Party. The republican party has shown itself to be fascistic, racist, war-mongering and just plain evil. They are a lost cause and we are fortunate that they are a minority. The leadership in the Democratic Party has proven that they can’t even beat this

What the actual fuck? This party is better at holding itself back than the GOP.

Sharia law is a much broader and more nuanced concept than you understand, and is certainly not defined by the Wahhabist practice in KSA. I’d spend some time actually studying the concept before making baseless, dumbass statements like that - especially considering the many many times that Linda has explicitly

The disconnect between the explicitly leftist views of the Women’s March leadership, and the feel-good pussyhat liberalism of the majority of Women’s March participants, was inevitably going to come to a head at some point. I am kinda shocked the schism is happening because of Farrakhan, though; it’s impossible that

Do you mean get rid of Ivy Leaguers in comedy writing or just in general? Either way, I agree with you.

The show does romanticize suicide and shows this fairly large group of teens mourning and thinking about the suicide to excess. The reality of a lot of suicides or even just deaths during high school is that it’s shocking then in a week a majority of the school will move on. The exception of course is very close

Still smarting over the incompetence of Universal’s Dark Universe. There was so much potential there. But you can’t make Dracula dull and completely miscast Tom Cruise and, worst of all, try to turn your monsters into superheroes and expect success. Set all that shit back in the good old 19th century where it

Jost’s hot take on the disgusting Amazon deal and the faux commercial claiming that Bezos chose Queens to fuck with Trump enraged me. Even the NYT (bastion of neo liberalism) has been scrutinizing this ‘deal’ and Jost mocks New Yorkers for not wanting to pay for a helipad? I wonder if anyone at SNL knows that the

Hell yes. Inject this idea into my veins. She is the bad ass we need going forward.

“And what did the director of Deadpool do now?!”

I can empathize with wanting Congress to prevent Trump from doing as little damage as possible. The problem is that this doesn’t gel with giving him nearly unlimited war powers in the Middle East and nearly unlimited detention powers under an AUMF that could never sunset, or to add even more fuel to Trump’s already

That Christina will find heartwarming and sweet.
