One small point to add to redneckrob’s reply is weather. If you live somewhere cold, it regularly gets to -10 to -20C where I live, this will make a difference. It’s well known that EVs loose range in cold climates, but charging efficiency will drop too. My Model 3 does quite a bit of thermal management on the battery

The horror. The horror.

I feel I would be doing the bus loving readers of Jalopnik a disservice if I didn’t bring Cyclops to their attention. Two decks, articulated, 32 wheels, 110 passengers, bowling alley and nuclear powered, naturally.

I believe Range Rover did that.

While we’re on this, its “Head Up Display”, the only “s” is in display. Designed for one person, the average person only having the one head, ergo head up. I think this one is a lost cause though, according to Wikipedia, even the OED has accepted heads up as a North American variant:

Meanwhile in Finland ;-)

Now if only one of these had crashed at the same time, that would really have made a meal of it.

I believe you may be Americaning wrong (points for that expression, it’s great), possibly not because you aren’t cramming work into every waking moment, but you are reporting to others that you aren’t. Pop over to Europe if you ever get the chance, we relax without shame ;-)

Long handled stick shift, yes.

The picture is from a while ago, but I walked past this one at the weekend, always raises a smile.

Come on Bezos, up your game. These are the celebrities we need to see go to space. I’ll give you $5 if you take Sigourney Weaver along too.

You echoed the first thing I thought of. I’m also reminded of the long wheelbase high-top sprinter van I once saw in east London. Some genius had put a set of car alloys on it, and loaded it to the gills. I assumed the wheel I saw some yards away from the van had just come off the hub. But no, the centre of the wheel

Finland. Land of the notoriously hard driving test, which involves a written test, day and night driving and skid pan testing. At least it did when my wife did it.

Many of my friends called this metallic baby shit. Having never witnessed baby shit, I’ll just have to take their word for it.

Now playing
