It’s also horses for courses. I spent my younger years in manuals because that’s what there was to drive. Fuel was expensive, which meant small engines which couldn’t afford the drive train losses and lower fuel economy of an auto and didn’t have the torque band to cope. As an aside, a friend of mine had a 1.0 Mini…
IMHO brown leather is only acceptable between you backside and a horse, but I respect your difference in taste.
So a couple come to mind...
All done in camera no CGI.
Would love to comment, but comments are borked again. Seems to be a page length thing, if the page is too long, nothing shows.
Oh, this is Zardoz, my mistake.
I have another theory. He’s driving something perfectly normal bit that a bit unreliable and with poor traction in the snow. He’s fudging the receipts so he can spend the money on Hookers and Blow.
Thank you, you’re not the only one. Designed for one person, the average person has only one head. I know that language should be given room to grow and change, but for some reason this one really grates on me as it comes across as an error, codified. “Heads-up!” anyone?
Yup.
I remember putting a second aftermarket head unit into my Mk2 Golf, following someone else’s very DIY install. I decided to tidy up the rats nest of cables and install ISO connectors. I poked around the wires and connected them as needed and put in the head unit. Powered it up and all was great. Reversed down the…
I used one of these when I was helping my brother sell his wares at a craft fare. I served a customer with an unusual name, and for some reason her name suck in my head. Years later I found out that Camilla Parker Bowles was quite well known.
It just takes getting used to. Ten minutes at 80C (175F) in the sauna first helps too.
There was a case a while ago in the UK where a car was reported as crashed in a ditch and was half submerged in water.. The police went out to have a look, added “police aware” tape and left. When the car was later recovered, two bodies were found inside. The police who did the initial investigation were raked over…
Be cautious. Lithium chemistries need chargers that can control / monitor both charging current and voltage and need to know what type of battery they are connected to. Get it wrong and the results can be explosive. I found this article that confirmed the current / voltage thing for lithium ion batteries:
This can vary by culture. In the UK some (respectful but) merciless mockery of the other enthusiast’s vehicle is acceptable and them doing the same is expected.
Number 2 is an excellent advantage. In the unfortunate event that you have a large vehicle and a friend that needs to move, I advise the following offer: “I will help you move, I will not help you pack”. If it’s not in a box when I turn up, it’s not going in my vehicle.
While it seems consensus from a few sources is that the Plaid is under-braked, there is precedence for this king of thing.
Deploy drone. Get an photo of the driver. Drop magnetic GPS tracker onto car.
Or it’s rated to 200 meters and they rounded a bit. Your answer more enlightening though.
