Turns out no only is Miata the answer, it was also the password.
I was just speaking to a colleague about car laws in Europe before they were somewhat harmonized. If I remember correctly some countries banned carrying fuel containers in the car, some mandated you carry spare fuel. I’m willing to bet that there’s a country somewhere that requires you to carry a couple of litres of…
I posted an image in an earlier thread before I read your comment. Yes, Porsche minibus is the way to go.
You know this is what’s really needed.
I was going to go for “what has two thumbs and doesn’t want gesture control”, but yours is more to the point.
Beat me to it, thank you.
As my dad was fond of quoting “don’t mistake education for intelligence”.
I’d never heard of that model before (I’m in Europe). It sounds a lot like a euphemism for a fart.
I think there’s a tie-in here with the thread above regarding university education versus training for trades. At one time many of the members of company’s board of directors would have some up through the company, or perhaps other companies in a similar line of business. Now it seems we are in the era of the career…
Answering your comment as it’s at the end of an interesting thread to add an additional point. I tried university twice, once for electronic engineering (my maths wasn’t up to it and the Grateful Dead were in town), then Psychology. I could have probably finished the Psych degree, but circumstances and university…
To be fair, a lot of the old guys never got a formal education in writing code, because such a thing didn’t exist, or wasn’t readily available. Not to say they shouldn’t learn best practices as they became accepted.
This also struck me as odd. Last time in the UK (admittedly nearly 10 years ago), you just give the utility company your electricity meter ID and address and they become your power provider.
Hence the graffito:
There were a couple of early-mid 20th century political figures who gave the hate thing a fair swing but that was before last Tuesday, so no one remembers.
That’s one one had nuts, on the other completely sensible. The Finnish test has night driving and skid pan requirements before you pass, it’s rigorous. On the other hand, the Finns ability to consume alcohol is legendary for a reason.
That’s about it. There will never be any doubt over who has right of way and you NEVER go through red lights, there are cameras to catch you at some of them if you do. If your in the UK and are in any doubt about who has right of way, its the pedestrian. As an example, if you are waiting at a zebra (pedestrian) crossin…
The road narrows (from both sides) sign is perfection. Note to US drivers, this is quite likely a “national speed limit” road - 60MPH (or 70MPH for two or more lanes in each direction).
The other answer is always a Unimog.
I’ve seen this in my line of work. The arguably useful Touchbar of old MacBook Pros has gone back to a series of F-keys (see ya, Jony Ive). To expect designers to listen to the ergonomics folks seems to be a lost cause, but these design choices seem to happen on the end of pendulum, always swinging too far one way or…
