It *is* a dark comedy.

“They’re goin for my BIRD!” -- Bubbles
I see your point. Personally I can laugh at some fucked up stuff. An old episode of south park had me laughing at childhood cancer the other day. Doesn’t mean I think sexual assault or cancer are funny.
She’s like Pennsatucky from Orange is the New Black. You can’t use her character too much otherwise the shtick becomes a beaten horse. But when writers do bring her out you know; shit-is-about-to-go-down.
“I’m going to move to Malibu, shave my pussy, and learn to surf”
“Shave your pussy? Why are you going to shave your pussy?”
“So I can surf faster, Jesse!”
I want to see a Judy and Tiffany episode just go all down the fucking rabbit hole of feral, Funyun™, fun!
... well depending on the man... sure.
“Sure, I may have been banned for my shouting ‘FIRE!’ in a crowded theater 8 months ago, leading to numerous preventable panicked casualties, but now that the same theatre was later inspected, condemned, abandoned and then subsequently burnt down, who is the idiot?!”
When breakthrough cases were extremely rare, it was misinformation to say they were common. The omicron variation has made them more common. That’s a change in circumstance, not a sign of inconsistency or hypocrisy.
That’s what we thought a year ago. Saying Zelnaj would feast on delicious, seared human flesh would get you banned from social media back then. Now that we spend hours marinating on a skewer for maximum tenderness, I feel free to call Joe a spreader of misinformation. Im between screams, of course.
That Joe Rogan doesn’t/didn’t know how vaccines work.
JR: I just want to spread the word and expose people to non-mainstream food preparation ideas. I have no intention to promote the shish kabobing of humans by putting an advocate of shish kabobing humans on my show and telling people they should seriously consider Zelnaj’s non-mainstream ideas. And it’s impossible for…
Because they still are breakthrough cases. That’s the literal definition. And no one was removed for discussing it because it’s been part vaccinations since long before covid. The CDC never said that breakthrough cases wouldn’t exist because they knew that they would exist. If the discussion is “don’t get the vaccine…
Find me 1 example of someone being banned for saying the vaccine isn’t 100% effective, at any point in time.
Well I mean you did come in here and immediately try to make this all about you, so if you’re not sociopathic, you’re at least highly egocentric. And you seem to be confusing nuance with obfuscation.
Try as he may, Rogan can’t save a sinking episode of SNL. C+
Go outside, like maybe reflect on why you think a guy who advocates injecting himself with horse medicine is worth having any valid takes?
Rogan’s right, you should always yell “FIRE” in a crowded public space because it might actually end up on fire in the future. Fucking idiot.
But if you look at why great films become great, it’s less because they are director masterworks and more because they create an image, character, or concept that audiences can’t shake. “The Sunken Place” is now a defining cultural reference as is the character of Rose Armitage.
And that, in turn, is a valid limitation of a film like this. In the same way, I didn’t get a lot of, say, Crazy Rich Asians because I am not familiar with the cultural cues and references in it, so I can’t quite understand all the praise it got and just have to trust that it is as good as others said it was.
