That closing is mighty condescending. What empirical proof do you have that ANY of this is objectively real? That our messy life experiences all automatically qualify as concrete ‘reality’? Reality is a consensus we will into existence by believing in it together, and that’s pretty flimsy stuff, logically-speaking.

“Doctor” Phil has never had an ounce of scruples, so why would he start atoning for his actions now?

make me

I see the backlash is well under way, judging by many of these comments. Whatever haters, this show’s fucking hilarious.

it’s grim but it’s definitely worth the hype

I’ll keep disliking Gadot for her defense of Israeli state terrorism, which feels like a better reason to dislike her than anything else.

right? they’re acting like he’s Adam Sandler, who despite a few stunning performances will always be remembered more for the heap of garbage he’s committed himself to.

i think folks will remember DeNiro for Taxi Driver, too, maybe...

John Cazale never acted in a bad film, but his career was cut so tragically short that who knows what would’ve ended up happening.

Aeon Flux was a crime against humanity but all of Kusama’s other films have been excellent.

maybe this will come up next season, somehow?

I’d imagine that (at least in Lottie’s mind) they’ve now ‘satisfied’ the wilderness, Van will survive her cancer and that’ll tip her even deeper into believing some wider force was at work.

yep. i was surprised, being a cop, he’d accept misty quigley’s boyfriend handing him a cup of a drink he didn’t see poured.

Buffy’s version of ‘Helpless’ is the definitive one in my mind.

i’m hoping for some sort of really drastic reset of everything we’ve known up until now next season, or else it’s gonna start to feel too repetitive for credulity or interest. i still love this show, but if they didn’t have another season this would’ve been a suitable finale, and that says a lot.

Two interesting echoes of Dark Tai’s statement of ‘we’re not supposed to be here’ in the finale, from a dying adult Natalie on the hallucinated plane and young Natalie telling Ben he’s too good of a person to be in the wilderness. Considering the drastic action Ben takes at the end of the episode, I think she might be

except that this isn’t reinforcing negative stereotypes, it’s the behavior of a clear-cut villain. if it’s cool to compromise the aims of a piece of garbage like a live-action Disney remake, we’ll be making excuses for the compromising of much more crucial art eventually.

gosh, with an argument like that it’s clear we’re dealing with a high-wattage intellect here.

yeah, something tells me no one was too concerned with THAT one

that’s not necessarily a good thing.
