You assume that 'the audience' is one cohesive mass that the writers manipulate. Sure a lot of people will give Bellamy's actions across the three seasons a pass but there will be others who will never like him after what he has done. He's not the protagonist, in fact in most of S1 he was the antagonist. You can also

Well the 3x05 rift was because Clarke was telling Bellamy that Pike was a problem, which Bellamy now realises she was correct about. He could still be mad at her for deserting him after MW but she has finally left Polis and everyone else except Monty hates him.

Aww I just spotted that by end of the episode Octavia has removed all the grounder braiding from her hair :(

Clarke witnessed Finn's rampage though, she doesn't have memories of Bellamy laying waste so her appal is kind of at a remove.

We can blame Jaha for that. ALIE was pretty chill in her mind control until he said it would be appropriate to ignore the consent clause and torment people into taking/keeping the chip.

not to support mass-murder but Bellamy was right when he said the army could have turned around and attacked them at any time. If Lexa had lost the duel with Roan his mother would have ordered an attack on Arkadia immediately, especially after Clarke tried to poison her.

to be fair Bellamy started the show as THE villainous hypocrite.
All that 'whatever the hell we want' talk then next day he enforces his own dictatorship as well as cowardly ruining the chance for other Ark people to go to Earth. his characterisation this season actually makes sense if you view him as an interesting

With Maya as well, she had and Octavia had guns held to the back of the head so even if he had somehow manage to resolve the bone marrow drilling situation using just his knife (when he was rubbish with the gun Bellamy gave him) she likely would have died before he'd got to her. I wish Abby had just said, "Would you

That 'waste of air' line was so cold but kind of true, Jasper's always been a beta male.

Raven is shown in the trading post bed Clarke had her episode 1 hook up in. Nylah had a metal bracelet on which Jasper will be interested in. Bellamy and Monty visited there in ep 2 so perhaps they'll make their own way there as Bellamy saved Nylah's life. Did Octavia definitely leave with Kane?

I don't need Pike to have menace and intent to be an enjoyable villain, I just need him to have power to do bad, which he had before Bellamy walked him into the blockade. Plenty of leaders are bad because they are stupid, rash and don't take advice. It's nice to have Pike, ALIE and Ontari as different types of

There's a really interesting science vs religion debate in the AI storyline. Will Clarke see the practical benefits of having people believe in a 'spirit'.

I was one of those people and boy was I wrong, the AI storyline has turned out to be the best part of the season for me (so far). Raven using it to get rid of her pain and Jaha being a creepy zealot were fab and it keeps delivering. I'm now trying to hold back my judgment on all other plot developments.

Indeed. No social services or parenting classes on the Ark. When I start questioning the characters' decisions I try to take a step back to remember what a profoundly strange environment all of them grew up in, completely at odds with my own life of comfort & free medicine in a liberal non-capital punishment

Agree, and would add that he is also inflicting violence to maintain order in the belief that his people need to be united and under his control. He's not far off how Lexa handled dissent in Polis.

Yep, her scrambling around for a way forward and having to use Murphy (who knows only a little more about Polis) was great to watch. She's had maybe 10 minutes of screentime and has engaged my interest for all of it.

Maybe she was always a bad Mom. Her manipulation and guilt tripping of her son looked quite natural.

The Mountain men were awful but it didn't seem odd to me that they panicked because their supply of grounder blood had gone. They would have had sick people within hours unless they hurt the Sky people. Like it or not harvesting those few dozen Sky people would have stopped them having to kill hundreds of grounders,

I'm pretty sure if he ever took an ALIE chip his dry humour would take the whole system down.

I think I recognised her bedroom from the preview for next episode.
