Slow isn’t the word I’d use. ;)
Ironically enough I saw one last night for only the second time and I was like, this shit’s getting ridiculous. Soon they’ll have an X2. Then here we are today with an article about an X2. smh
Funny, you post this today as I passed one (GLA45 AMG) on Page Mill this morning and was thinking to myself of how fugly they were. To each their own I guess...
The point of the helmet light isn’t just location, but activation with deceleration and not just when the brakes are used.
The location is not as optimal as the helmet light I’ll admit. However, it does light up with deceleration, which to me is the biggest advantage of the Volo Light and helmet light mentioned in the article.
Commuting on the Peninsula I can’t believe you didn’t recommend a suit that has plenty of vents. Often when I leave in the morning it’s low 50s and coming home it’s low 80s. For that you need a very versatile suit or at least one with a nice windproof liner.
No thanks. I like my bikes and cars to shift via my toe or hand. Once you take away another input point riding/driving becomes too pedestrian for me. And for those of you that complain about traffic and manual transmissions - I drive my car in Bay Area traffic at least 2x week and I survive. It’s really not that big…
That leg of 280 isn’t too bad. I have to drive 85 for a long part of my commute and that’s always a traffic jam. No A/C when you’re stuck going 10mph in July and it’s 90 degrees outside is no fun.
I loved my 2002. However, when it came time to pony up for the rust/paint repair I knew my time with that car was limited. They’re great 2nd cars or first cars if you can fashion an AC or live in a place that has no traffic. Sadly, the Bay Area has too much traffic to make it a viable commuter in the summer months…
Yeti makes bikes and nice ones at that.
Dave wore a full-face Bell from his early days, so wasn’t really a later-in-career change. He’s had plenty of gnarly crashes, not to mention the bad accident while he was crossing the street with a pizza that resulting in his almost death, so CTE or other brain injuries would not be a crazy theory. The dude was always…
Ironically enough, I saw one pass me on Coyote Hill last night on my way home. Was wrapped in some kind of matte deep blue/purple and when I saw it I didn’t know what model it was (just looked like a smaller version of the usual Teslas I see all over the Peninsula). Looked pretty nice from the quick glance I got.
I had a friend that was all about the IronButt rides. My friends and myself didn’t see the appeal. We’d much prefer a day at the track than a day on the slab, but to each their own. Respect for this dude’s ability to suffer that long on a bike.
Was there a reason to swap out the RS50 engine? That engine with some mods would have been a better match for the Groms.
Actually, Bank of America will do 10 years and 125K, not 7 years/100K. I know because in ‘14 I got a loan for an ‘06 103K mileage car from them. Chase on the other hand does have the 7/100K restriction.
I liked my old Violators, but the Knox insert on the palm closest to my thumb was super irritating, so I sold them. These have the same insert, so likely to some it will be a bit annoying. YMMV.
