@beernut: Sorry you beat me to it, fair and square. I just got caught up in not looking through the hidden threads. #qotd

Peich: Hey, I know, lets take a car we are trying to promote as a driver's car, and turn it into a clown car! #qotd

Ben, I hate to shout but I think he cracked open ANOTHER cold one. #accidents

@powermatic: Except if you want to trade a car, as probably 80% of customer's do (invented statistic, BTW) . Of course, the trade is negotiable, and so the whole deal is negotiable, and my guess is that the Saturn fixed price menu was caput as soon as capacity exceeded demand. Like about 1991.

Amazing - thanks for showing us around the island. One question - are all the cars like this? Maybe there is a 2001 Accord lurking someplace that you haven't shown us because you don't want to spoil this wonderful illusion!

Calling Roger Penske! Rebrand this and you've got the new Saturn truck!

@Cognitive Friction: Nice they are committed "for next year". I'll try that on my girlfriend and see what she thinks" "...just because I spend the new sofa fund on some some 20" rims doesn't mean I don't value our relationship babe... I'm committed to us for all of next year!"

There is clearly a need to resurrect the Ferrari Enzo. At the rate they are being destroyed more need to be built before they go extinct.

@ThreeLitre: Those "special editions" are really just "special marketing editions". The 356 Carrera was the base car with the hot, exotic racing engine.

Hey, is there a link to the actual ad, or am I trapped in Mac browser hell again and just can't find it? Thx

These dealers complaining how much they are hurting because the government doesn't pay the rebate immediately is total and complete BS.

They totally avoid the fact that this must presume the vehicle is fully charged at the outset...and they do that by plugging the Volt in at night.

@TurboRefrigerator: Sorry, I missed your comment, important as it was, because it hadn't been promoted. So, hours later, I restated it. Do'h.

"Titi" ?

While I was rodding my socal Fiat 600, a buddy had an Imp. He managed to soup up that engine, but the thing didn't have a throttle cable to the accelerator - it was a horrible vacuum/pneumatic system. I'm just amazed that the Brits can think this stuff up!

@Stranger than most, Now with A+ Certification!!!: There is one, a combined VW and Volvo dealership with a pretty bad rep, and because of the urban location not much stock, IIRC. I'm not surprised, if I was in the VW/Volvo market I'd look elsewhere.

Pandora via iPhone on the road is the best! I just did a Washington DC - Portland Maine and back road trip, and it was just wonderful, never dropped a note.

What!!! I thought this was all leading up to as number #1, Two Lane Blacktop!
