I'm going with the Concord. I figure if I head out to the junkyard I can get a 343 to 401 AMC V8, and where ever that is there will be a transmission as well.

Martin Schneider in Glendale has been selling conversion kits for years. The only problem with converting a water cooled Vanagon to a 911 engine is you go back to the splittie heating/defroster system, i.e. none.

The voice over even mentioned "high" twice!

Great finish. She doesn't want this little indiscretion public - except for she is in a car ad!

I went with the Rolls, there is a lot of work; hundreds of Lucas microswitches alone is enough hell for anyone, especially since its been sitting for four years in the salt air of Monterey.

"Pretty much totaled"...I guess so!

I'm going with Sophia, but I'm buying her other offer: the 1995 GMC diesel van for $1000. A clapped out diesel worktruck for that price has to be more hellacious than the Jag AND the pair of sedans combined!

This is really scary.

This morning in DC I saw $4.99 a gallon for diesel. Thats 20% over the price for regular, about the same as the increase in diesel efficiency. I'm hoping VW hasn't put all its consveration eggs in the diesel basket.

No convertibles, please.. they are an invitation to slice the top and run off with whatever the contents might be while the tourists are enjoying lunch at a cantina.

Like most everybody else, I went for the Zimmer. The real hell, however, will be getting the proper accessories to fully build it out to look like a real Zimmer. Lets start with some chrome fake exhaust pipes, but they really have to be bigger than these:

No Mercury version? Maybe thats because they plan for there to be no Mercury at all!

I wonder what they would give for a Ford GT in trade? It really shouldn't cost very much to trade UP to a Mustang!

As soon as they add the transfer case with an actual low range they will have a vehicle that can really do the job!

Bravo! What determination! What insanity!

Transfer case! Does this thing have a low range too? If so, cool.
