No, it’s not nonsense. We’ve all seen this happen repeatedly. Nerds of all races or ethnicities commonly lust after girls miles out of their league while ignoring women with similar interests who are actually into them. Like, a lot of the time, they will literally not even see these women and swear they did not exist.

I swear, the fact that Steve Urkel actually got Laura Winslow in the end has a lot of these nerds fucked up.

It is very common for Black men / white women relationships to be based on 1) fetishisation and 2) mutual hatred of Black women. I’m not saying these things *never* happen in BW/WM relationships, but they’re not nearly the same. BW/WM relationships are far more commonly based on mutual love, which is a far healthier

The overlap between nerds and “Nice Guys” is...significant.

LOL, people have been calling Glover a cornball for years and his choice in women didn’t really have anything to do with it.

It wasn’t an “offhand joke”, it was a pretty big part of his standup routine.

Check out the divorce rates of Black men and white women marriages. They are an absolute mess, and I think the fact that misogynoir is a very common bonding agent in these relationships is a huge reason why.

You are embarrassing yourself. Just stop.

“Blerds: BW didn’t check for me so I dated non bw.

“I think that’s my issue with this piece. Since it’s simplifies the issue as being merely “If you didn’t date a black girl in highschool, it’s probably because you’re an asshole.””

You’re....doing a *really* good job of proving her point here is all I’ll say.

Where would you get that idea? I guess arguing with straw people is easier than engaging her actual point though, isn’t it?

“In the analogy you post above, someone who likes Jane Eyre goes to hang out with others who do, and obviously it must be because they’re avoiding interacting socially with black women. It couldn’t possibly be because this person met others with a similar interest?”

“Also, there’s no static or friction whatsoever from being in traditionally “White” spaces. It’s a totally pleasant experience, Easy Mode, if you will.”

“But this is the same thing that lames say about women who are into nerd shit: “You’re just liking it because you want to be accepted/get attention from us men.””

He didn’t really turn into an awful person, he was pretty obviously one from the beginning.

The only people who see Walt as a hero are MRA’s, which...yeah.

Breaking Bad was a fascinating show that was a great case study on toxic and fragile masculinity. I’m sure someone’s written something great about that.

The whole “antihero” thing is bullshit. It’s just white people being unable to see themselves as a villain.

Well, you all obviously came from somewhere, and Reddit seems like the best guess, so....
