Season 1 Christi and later season Christi were totally different- you could see how Abby and the constant Chloe/Maddie battles were making her INSANE. Really gross. Also, was Paige really having nervous breakdowns? Why didn’t Kelly pull her off the show sooner? The aldc seems like such a nasty competitive

Ah, TV editing. It can literally make anything possible. I always thought most of them would grow up to be brats, sadly. Except for Nia- she seems to have a good head on her shoulders.

What about Kelly? Did they root for her too? Show is not the same without them. Or Cathy & Vivi lol.

That. Is. Amazing. I’m sorry you have a shitty mom. I hope things are better for you now.

Wow. Pretty disappointed to see so much hate for Tara Lipinski. Why did this have to turn into an article on she vs. she? C’mon, ladies... support your fellow women! Kwan & Lipinski are BOTH talented skaters.

You’re welcome... not sure if I should be proud or ashamed that The Bachelor takes up that much of my brain space that I know this :)

That’s Mesnick, not Pavelka!

Amanda doesn't have twin girls- they are different ages!

I used the Seinfeld examples because anyone reading this would immediately understand them, and to explain why residuals equals payment for overexposure. You can easily substitute Baker’s, Hale’s or Strong’s most well-known role if that is easier for you to understand.

That the voice quality is better in Japanese “95% of the time” is your opinion, and wanting to read a video game is your preference. You’re entitled to your opinion and preferences.

Unless an actor has a trust fund, they’re working another job to support themselves. They’re waitressing, doing real estate, working at the Apple store, etc., in order to be able to pay their monthly bills. Then, all of their free time goes to auditioning, acting classes, etc. They are not getting paid for any of the

Think of it this way- when you finally get a job as a voice actor next year and get $1,000 for one session of your time, that $1,000 is also paying for all the auditions you went on, the reel you had produced, the classes you took, and the casting director meet-and-greet you paid for and went to.

Just because an actor hasn’t yet worked on a mo-cap video game doesn’t mean they never will. Also, there is absolutely nothing wrong with showing support to your friends and colleagues who are working mo-cap.

The union does not limit voice work to those five people. The casting directors and gaming companies are responsible for auditioning and hiring voice actors. They are the people who hire the same actors over and over again.

JRPGS (and anime for that matter) are 90% non-union work and are notorious for tiny budgets and cutting corners where they can. They are paying voice actors around $200 an hour, which sounds like a lot, BUT, the current union rate is around $1800 for a four-hour minimum. So, JRPGS are already getting a hell of a deal

Easiest, cushiest gig in all of video games? Ha. The grass is always greener. After you audition for 20+ video games, for free, for an entire year, get two callbacks, then book ONE small role for which you get compensated around $900 (now $1800) for, then consider if this is an easy, cushy gig.

As a voice actor, I am going to tell you why residuals for actors matter more than residuals for people behind the scenes.

Valley Girl here. Living in legit fear of my energy bill when it comes at the end of this heat wave. Been cranking my AC 24/7 all week.

NPR is my jam. I also love Slate and VICE for off-beat things.

Ok- I found two people’s email addresses I know. How do I check to see if it is actually their credit card info/profile? I want details- like the ones on the Josh Duggar stories.
