I’d take the gun. Great resale on those right now.

Look the simple story here is that octane rating is a means to prevent pre-ignition. Any car with OBDII will tell you if you are doing it wrong because it will have knock sensors to detect pre-ignition. The best tuning you can hope for is as much timing advance as you can get before pre-ignition. Thats the point of

I think you’re engine has issues, I ran e10 in ours all the time.  pre and post supercharger.

Definitely do not put premium in the suburban. The vortec 7400 will make no use of it and it is throwing money away. Even with a 7 psi centrifugal supercharger on ours we would run 89 in the winter because it just didn’t need it. No pinging. In summer or under load it was 91 minimum for sure but again... Supercharger.

This.

If your engine is naturally aspirated and not high compression, running anything other than the recommended 87 is throwing money away. It’s that simple.

Probably brake fade. Or brain fade. Either way, not a good look for the so-called professionally-trained drivers of the State Police.

I’m not talking about failure of the disposal, I’m talking about the very-much-unfriendly salad that disposals send through your pipes. Every home I’ve ever owned has had a disposal and every one of them eventually develops a problem that required a call to Roto Rooter, and every time it they come out it’s invariably

I’d say, “Eff ‘em,” but of course there will be entirely innocent and non-stupid people caught up in this Darwin Awards nonsense. Just ruining all the comic potential.

I take this comment as "why don't you write an article about every time you get an honest, straightforward answer from a dealer?" Um, because no one needs advice about that situation. :-)

Bullshit. This story is specifically about a local in state buy. The taxes and title fees are simple. This is simple lazy slimy bullshit.

I hate to see these stories, especially from this site, on a weekly basis essentially accusing every aspect of dealerships of fraud and shady practices.

If over the course of several hundred deals thoughout the year MOST dealers get it right and have no problem sending out the door prices, even on out of state deals...the problem is not the “complexitity of the system” if a FL dealer refuses to send a quote for a Florida customer, especially when their competiton can

I will say that most dealers “get it” but there are still far too many “old school” dealer stores that insist on this nonsense.

HOW DARE YOU POINT OUT THAT THE GOOD ‘OLE DAYS WEREN’T EXACTLY.... GOOD.....

I guess I just don’t get what people like y’all want. Yeah, it’s lame. But it’s comfy, it starts every day, has heated seats, A/C, and 750 watt stereo. Then again, were cars really that distinct in the days of poorly-tuned carbs, zero passenger safety, and FM radio?

wooosh

First off..where's the fun? Secondly you usually pay about the same to rent that you do to own, except you get no equity that way. Third, believe it or not, renters have all the rights and the owners have none. The chance of the owners suing the tenant is pretty slim, at least winning.

I am a landlord. My time is my most valuable commodity. When I have renters that take care of these minor items themselves I appreciate and reward them with great service on the real problems, and far fewer rent raises. Do the math.

Also check if the chain isn't too long, getting caught on the flapper and keeping it open, if it is, shorten it... The chain should have just a tiny bit of slack when the flapper is fully closed. Also check to see of it isn't the handle that's sticking, as this is often the case. If the chain isn't the problem, make
