Always blame the “leadership” and dont take any personal accountability. Sounds about right.

I think the pertinent points have already been discussed. See my above posts, or just read the portion of the article quoted by Orlove:
What I find most funny about these comments is that I thought you were just trolling at first, but you actually really seem to have simple minded advice for such complex things as “the effects of a once a century global pandemic” that you believe applies to everyone equally.
If only life worked in such simple, single sentence, black and white ways as your thought process.
There’s a pretty big difference between “North Korea/Totalitarian State” and “Demonstrating leadership, putting together a plan for combating the pandemic, implementing the plan with adjustments based on statistical data/science, asking everyone to do common sense things like put on a mask and social distance, and…
I don’t disagree with this notion. Right now in Wayne County we have to fill out a questionnaire and get our temperatures scanned every day.
At the moment, less than 1% of the US population has been confirmed infected with the virus. Even though the US response to the virus has been nothing less than a half-assed disaster, the majority of confirmed infected is nowhere near “moving on” territory (which is herd immunity, 70%+ infected).
I think the more pertinent point is that the US response to COVID-19 has been disastrous. Ideally, you would open the country up as cases went down to a manageable level. This is what’s happening in the more successful countries. Some have essentially managed to eliminate the virus, though I don’t necessarily think…
David,
There are “technical outdoor” jackets featuring 3L goretex from companies like Arcteryx, Outdoor Research, Patagonia, The North Face, etc. that are a couple of hundred bucks. These are used and proven products by everyone from thru-hikers to military; and are usually ‘only’ a couple of hundred bucks. The $1900 price…
This is true in certain jurisdictions, depending on whether they can prove your intent. In Ontario, 50km/h over the limit is classified as stunt driving, which includes street racing. Automatic seven day vehicle impound and license suspension.
“The number of deaths is nowhere near to the flu”
I think you can access most functions on the steering wheel. Regardless, the Germans first popularized infotainment systems so it just comes with the territory.
Your misguided use of numbers shows you are an art student, never understood/passed statistics, or are just a fucking moron. I posted a factual response to that, and it’s pretty funny that you can’t come up with anything but “FuCkInG dUmB”. No matter, your arguments were never made in good faith to begin with…
If you’re going to pull out a number, why not go all the way and mention that there are also over 1.3 billion vehicles on the road currently, worldwide? Do you want to take a stab at how many miles of driving per year that equates to? And what percentage of that consists of autonomous vehicles? Hint: Not statistically…
Extremely bad take. You should tell the families of people like Elaine Herzberg that her being killed while minding her own business walking her bicycle across a clear weather road at night is a noble sacrifice in the name of Uber technological advancement.
Maybe. The point is that laws are currently seriously lacking when it comes to AV testing and needs to be made clear and unambiguous- The current state not only potentially harms citizens, but it stifles those testing AVs due to uncertainty over what they can and cannot do on the roads.
While this may be true, what’s also galling is that the Japanese authorities have made seemingly no attempts at investigating the rest of the Nissan execs. You think Ghosn was the only one skimming money off the top? Much like the UAW, Nissan had to go deep into its bench to pull out an executive who is mildly clean…
I do not feel good about putting the general public at risk for some private corporation’s beta testing, no matter how small that risk is. Companies have been able to test and validate inventions over the years without putting the general public at risk (see: Most automotive, aerospace, and transport industry…
Yes, “net” migration.
