It’s believe it’s just a scripted piece of dialogue in the ripper doc when you get picked up after the initial act.  Not a timer or gameplay mechanic.

Except in CP2077 the narrative give you a very specific number of days to complete the task and the sleep mechanic forced in some missions doesn’t do anything to help the sense of urgency.  World ending cataclysm is much less dire than personal annihalation with a perpetual Keanu notification status.
