I agree with the sentiment but it’s hard for me to get invested in an anti-elitest play when the parties are F1 and whatever random flavor-of-the-season celebrity shows up.

Yea, I HATE having to look at the screen to confirm my selection. Capacitive touch screens are atrocious, bar-none.  I want to be able to make a console selection at a glance and keep my focus on the road and tactile feedback is how I get there.
