Have you read the books? I can't decide whether to give them a try. As a father, I'm not too excited by the whole "kids dying" thing, but as a lover of shitty pulp fiction, I'm willing to try.

Really? I am going there tomorrow - I had a massive craving for BBQ today, but need a Vietnamese sandwich fix as well. Go tomorrow again, look for a frumpy, nerdy guy in the corner, and come say "hi."

So, I haven't been able to watch the tournament until tonight. Does Baylor not realize that being a "living highlight reel" does not have anything to do with the way the team is dressed?

Thanks - that was a good piece. Deadspin did a disservice by posting those three articles at roughly the same time. It was a massive tl;dr hit (judging both from my own reaction and from the low view totals).

Agreed - funny dude and knows his sports. Did he do something today?

That reminds me, I need to buy Always Sunny DVDs (assuming they exist) while over here. It isn't on Netflix or on television in Dubai, so I've never seen an episode. From everything I hear, that must change quickly.

That is absolutely perfect.

Not to be that guy who quotes TV shows, but this was perhaps my favorite line from The Office: "Um, let me ask you, is there a term besides 'Mexican' that you prefer? Something less offensive?"

I just accidentally flipped through whatever channel shows The Big Bang Theory. Do dumb people really think that smart people talk like that?

Serious question - is it bad to refer to non-American cuisines as "ethnic"? I did it last night, but not without trepidation - I just couldn't figure out a better term for "damn near anything except a burger or steak." But, it does sound vaguely racist or at least Anglo-centric doesn't it?

Fo shizzle my dizzle

I forgot to mention, I hit up a fantastic local pizza joint next to my hotel. I think it was Sbarro or Sparro or something like that ... anyway, check it out if you are ever in the area.

I got an ROFL email response from my 53 year old boss last week. I haven't been able to look him in the eye since.

For those who care (nobody), my NYC food extravaganza has gotten off to a great start. Waffles and Dinges in the morning (thanks BBAM), Hill Country for lunch (thanks Cyrus) and Bao Noodles for dinner (thanks What a Silly Bunt).

You, my friend, are a FAILURE.

It is good to see that David Stern remains consistent in his complete lack of concern for the perception that the league's ownership of the Hornets would bias any of his decisions.

In related news, Miami-Dade County just received a concealed carry permit application written completely in sans serif.
