Oh yah, buying a right now Pixel is a ridiculously terrible life choice for anyone under a 7 figure salary or isn't a Google executive. Don't throw all Chromebooks under that bus.

On the other end of the spectrum there is the advantages to a large families. Tablets are great for consumption but not so great when three kids are fighting over the computer to get their homework done it can be a problem and to buy a computer for each member of the household will get expensive fast.
They are the perfect parent laptops. Cheap, Virus free, never slows down, Full keyboard, USB, and Facebook friendly. With Google Docs there isn't a one thing that my parents need that couldn't be fulfilled with a Chromebook.
It is a truer experience of the netbook concept. A disposable machine that connects you to the internet.
This is exactly right. 100 dollars over 2 years is 4 dollars a month difference.
I didn't mean to disrespect android. They are great phones and a Nexus HTC One is probably my favorite of the bunch, but the big feature that they added was build quality. Apple has had the lock up on that for years.
Meh, there is nothing that exciting coming from Android either.
Unless someone just looks over your shoulder and catches you enter just once in the hundreds of times you input the code every day.
If you're already giving them your location data, letting them turn on the mic to listen in on your phone, and hack into your photostream to see your photos I don't think that knowledge about how fit you might be is really going to affect the black helicopters from getting you. It's a fad until enough people have it on their phone for and there is a market to develop for. While individual luxury android set have had it the shear glut of apple's high income demo would be the big part of making it relevant.
The wave of always listening devices has to be one of the worst timed feature releases in history. Of course Microsoft and Google can't plan for this but the NSA spying story that will not go away makes all of that stuff so creepy.
Do we really need to get into religion in a tech blog?
I want three things from apple this fall and I am not gonna get any of it.
I don't need another chore in my life to pay for things I already paid for.
It isn't how good a deal Xbox live is, or if someone was already going to get it. It is a reaction to how petty it seems. People rail against it because if the Xbox is too successful in this area every single internet connected device will add a paywall.
I remember a time when new features were exciting and I looked forward to spend money and time with them. Now new features are terrible and cost me privacy.
Thank you!
They always skimp on the forward facing camera and I would pay more for a full 5mp front-facing camera.
