Just by calling the possible spinoff Green Arrow & the Canaries and not Birds of Prey I feel like they have already made sufficient  concession to the DC movies

i don’t know, i thought her arc on arrow was pretty solid and she had one of the more compelling stories in the DCAU

For me, the weakest sketch of the night was somewhat surprisingly the Cheer sketch. I think the big problem was that they tried to cram half the insane stuff from the show in to one sketch instead of really focusing on the Monica character and what makes her such a fascinating and contrdictory character on the show.

Kara’s reactions to being on the same Earth is like a kid who found out they’re in the same class as their friends.

I’m mid binge right now. I keep checking back to see if there will be episodic reviews on here, but alas.

I’d argue that Joe is not an anti-hero, as the headline designates him. An anti-hero has impure but sympathetic motivations. Revenge is an example of this motivation, because who among us have never at least *wanted* revenge even though we know it isn’t “morally correct”?

He’s just a boy in love - he can’t be held responsible for his actions!

You didn't think Kevin Smith saying the Stargirl teaser was better than the birth of his child was interesting?

I like how all the Paragons from people we know from Arrowverse show are the women leading their respective shows - Kara, Kate and Sara.

That brief scene of Sara and Ray at the bar reminded how much I’ve missed those nutjobs.

-Like the “in the beginning” voiceover. Reminds me of the Bible and sets a nice tone for an epic.

They’d be stupid not to. It needs comedy, Laurel is snarky and can now get some good lines in now and again, but Ben Lewis’ William is funny like early Felicity, (and not trying too hard like Curtis) and him and Katherine already have a rapport.

William’s in the backdoor pilot, so he’ll probably be in the series if it gets picked up.

They have not announced that William is going to be in the Green Arrow & the Canaries spinoff but I hope so. I agree with Oliver, his kids deserve to be together!

Oh, and one more thought that just occurred to me: Will is inspired by seeing the story of Superman (brought to us via the American immigrant narrative, as symbolized by the accented newsstand guy whose copy he looks at), thinking it mirrors his own story, but the actual baby cast away from their home planet in this
