At least Pence won’t blow up the world. Women may not have any rights left by then end of 4 years, though.

I keep hoping for a military coup.

Honestly, could he come up with someone worse than Scalia? Most likely the court will go back to how it was. We just have to hope no one else dies or retires until a Dem is in office.

Gavin Newsom (but he’s running for Governor of California in 2018) or Corey Booker. Tammy Duckworth would be amazing too.

I don’t think he understands what actually happened in Nazi Germany.

I can’t imagine what the Obamas are going through. All their hard work, grace, intelligence, smart policies (though I don’t agree with everything), their dedication to the country and to public service...and in 14 days Republicans will start tearing it all down.

The GOP is gleefully destroying America. Need more circles in hell.

For heaven’s sake, don’t take it too seriously. Also autocorrect.

I used to do marketing communications and had the nickname “Eagle Eye” because I could always find the type-o’s, even after a bunch of other people had reviewed the copy. It gave me job security.

We talked about the $5, $50, and $500 mistake. Best to catch it before it goes to print.

I discouraged a really bright undergrad from going to UW-Madison because of the political threat to education and uncertain funding. She’s now at UT-Dallas, which may or may not be better.

I’m going to the one in Los Angeles!

Maybe it’s a generational thing. My parents could only see my sister and me as extensions of themselves. No unconditional love, but lots of high expectations. As a result, I’m a ridiculously high achiever and my sister is a long-term anorexic (33 years now). I remember when I was in my 20s my mom basically told me

I’m impressed Couric can do a headstand without using a wall. I fall right over without a wall.

So, this op-ed gives good advice on resisting. All politics is local. The Tea Party was/is the minority and yet exercises enormous political power. Let’s use Tea Party tactics for progressive causes.

Also, because the GOP refused to do anything but obstruct, Obama was forced to use the Executive Order to get anything done.

Thanks for the link. It’s a very interesting interview with Errol Morris. I’m also struck by the fact that Trump used to be able to speak in real sentences (even if he apparently has no power of self-reflection or critical thinking), but now he can barely string a few (repetitive) words together.

I think we should all aspire to lives where our friends will write such lovely things about us when we are gone.

I didn’t know you could do that! Right now I donate them to my 11 year old.

This is ok if it means “sentenced to a cloistered monastery,” preferably one that requires a vow of silence.
