@danio3834: GM's simply done the poorest job of disguising their garbage, that's all. Truly weak effort. Nothing substantive.

OK, who else sees Mercedes-Benz downmarketing into Corrado-land here?

.

Article clearly states "..among potential other applications." I'm willing to bet they'll get a sedan hood over the top of that thing. How many sedan chassis from this manufacturer fit a small block V8?

Late to the commentary, but a thought nonetheless: lots of unobtainium around here. Reminds me of the William Gibson quote: "The future is here, it's just not uniformly distributed." The earliest of adopters can maybe get into the diesel performance car game, but the rest of us are still relegated to sufficing on

Perhaps the drought may come to an end. But you're paying (dearly) for privilege in two ways.

So, let's see if I've got this right: Cerberus pops Chery's cherry (to save dollars?) at the Demons' DNA's expense? Pardon me, but that's just wrong on several fronts, FWD included.

Are there shades of Qvale Mangusta here?

Looks like a Lotus Elise. Same principle as a Lotus Elise. Will it take as long to come to the US as the Elise and will it cost the same as an Elise? If so, what's to be gained? What's the differentiator here?

Post WWII to Pre-Nader. Post Fuel Crisis to Pre "everything-looks-designed-by-aerodynamic-rules."

Ok, not a manufacturer, but aerodynamics and economics (combined) make me sad. The immutable laws of physics and the God-Almighty Dollar melded to force design to the point of boredom. Only recently has there been a reversion to the angularity of the 80's. I think it's better done now.

Oops. Previous post was for Tinachow. Misfire, sorry.

@ash78: Some folks think "Q" is indicative of innovation... I'm just glad someone's recognizing that new powerplants need not be installed in lowly sedans. I cite this concept and the probably-to-be-premiered Audi A8 V12 diesel.

Now, call me crazy (and a smidge off topic, sorry), but I've advocated for SEVERAL years that Lotus ought to shoehorn the VW TDI into the Elise/Exige.

@Volvo144: Dead in the water when it finally arrives next year.

Ya know, white's not so bad on this car. A good metallic primary color wouldn't be too bad, either... Something to accentuate the haunches. Anyone know the difference between the front track and rear track on this car? Looks... meaningful.

Ooh ooh — what about the Sonnet? Is the Sonnet salvageable? *fingers crossed* :)

Given the line of the tracks and the statement of 30-40mph and "veer," it doesn't seem to add up.
