The short answer is yes.
The short answer is yes.
If the roads are slippery, you can have your Cake and eat it...
The wing, motors, and controller probably weigh less than 10 pounds all in.
The less expensive version is $1500. Including the carbon wing.
They’re all rich men’s Supras in 2019.
I wrote it <3
Let’s not forget this engine (1UZ-FE) also came in the Lexus SC400 which was essentially the rich man’s Supra. So that's a fairly fitting connection.
This is actually excellent, clever clickbait.
But only on take off and landing, for forward flight the main rotor was unpowered.
I have ideas.
I remember asking him about EV land cruisers in his future. He’s sees the possibility for it for sure, though like everything he does, it comes down to being interesting and profitable.
Damnit. I want this. To me this thing is cooler then any 6+ figure car I’ve ever seen (in person or in print). I never felt bad that I couldn’t afford the latest Ferrari quatrofolienflameblowupanello or whatever but the want for this thing right here is emanating from deep within my loins.
This. Pretty much anyone I know under 40 who rides a HD is riding some sort of customized Sportster they bought used.
Hey this way they can avoid bad reviews from reaching the market for another 6 months!
The Reuters report is worth reading, even if Shilling’s isn’t. Just the attitude that the HD dealerships have about the bike are pretty damning, even if it’s in line with the normal shitting-on-anything-but-full-dressers. Also makes it sound like HD can’t actually even make a salable number of these bikes
Huh? They sit idle for hours at a time, then need to accelerate hard for at most 5 minutes. Sounds like a great use case for electric. If someone runs for more than a couple miles, they will have called in backup and gotten the heli to chase.
I’ve said this ever since they hinted at pricing... nobody outside of rich older dudes with interest in EVs will buy this. This is coming from someone who owns a $14k neo-retro bike. Like I can justify spending that kind of money on a nice toy, but DOUBLE that? With worse performance too. Fuck that.
I was curious to find out if I could figure out which Ohio HD dealer was being mentioned. Of the 7 dealers in a three county area of me only two appear to actually sell the Livewire so it certainly isn’t limited to just one dealer. Even most of the dealers apparently knew this was a stupid idea.
I’m going to say this one more time:
I work with an asshole that recently bought one with the “Loud Douche Exhaust” option. He parks in the company garage and revs it while he rolls it back into his spot. The noise is painful enough that I’ve thought about a worker comp claim.
