I always liked the part with the Architect. I think some people consider exposition in general to be a chore, but I thought that part was pretty fascinating.

Eh, it’s streets ahead of Revolutions (recently rewatched, and egad is that boring trash), but no amount of masturbatory filmic doubletalk is going to convince me that Reloaded is anything but an okay sequel with some good fight scenes (the highway scene is thrilling), a lot of CGI that has not held up, and an…
I like that at CNN, the headline for DMX’s passing is above the passing of Prince Phillip. I’ll take a rapper who clawed his way up who struggled and became an artist who spoke truth and poetry, over a fucking royal who had everything handed to him. DMX was given half as much time, but did so much more.
So I think I can probably explain why so many people think Close Encounters is one of the greatest movies ever made, yet somehow doesn’t get recognized as his greatest work.
Jimmy’s hatred of Howard is so misplaced, and sad considering that Howard seems to have some genuine affection for Jimmy. Also, did anyone think Gus was gonna do a Victor to Lyle ?
They sold it to Netflix. Duffy starts a riverboat casino in Harlan Co. by towing one into a swamp. It’s called “Wynn’er Take All” and it’s streaming now.
I’m still waiting for them to pull the rug and say the goo guy was a hoax. I mean, in the same episode they warn about the dangers of giving your email address out to unverified strangers, then plug a website where you can email a stranger for a miracle baldness-and-depression cure.
That was such bullshit. That guy needs to get kicked in the shins.
That caller was just awful. I vaguely remember reading the answer of the ‘cure’ for baldness and it was something like snail mucus. And it 100% does not cure baldness, at all.
I sort of expect that cure for baldness thing was part of an upcoming story they’re doing. The way they encouraged everyone to email that guy seemed to be some kind of setup.
That was my first take too. But the alternative is that it was truth but thrown back in her face as if it were a con. Which would turn Kim’s world/moral compass upside down . . . when her lies are believed and her truths are dismissed.
NBC needs to sell the Chidi calendar.
I’m sorry to have to agree. I was very much into this band through maybe Yield. I wasn’t so hardcore that I followed them around, watching 20 shows per tour like some did, but I thought they were just a great band and I was locked in when I saw them play.
I recently attempted a full-career, album by (studio, for chrissakes I’m not suicidal) album listen to Pearl Jam. I do this occasionally with bands/artists. It’s always difficult and I’m rarely successful. I’ve been stopped by the likes of Machina/The Machines of God, Tango in the Night, Steel Wheels, and…
The finale implies that Mr. Robot’s already tried to get Mastermind-Elliot to relinquish control once before, presumably somewhere between the creation of Fsociety and S1, which is possibly the cause of his memory wipe. I think pushing him along with the 5/9 hack etc. is his attempt to complete MM-Elliot’s plan so…
And then he’s in the real world, staring Darlene in the face, and he realizes that she’s the one he can’t lie to. She brings out the best in him, even when he doesn’t want to admit it.
It didn’t end how I thought it might end, but it did end exactly where I wanted it to... with Darlene and Elliott alone. It was gutwrenching and wonderful.
Round of applause for Mr Robot for crafting an amazing ending in a year that’s had some very notable misses when it comes to writing conclusions.
No. I think you are onto something. My thought was that this was depicting some kind of in between stage as Elliot gradually took over from Mr. Robot. The idea that this was showing “the third” is possible too, but just the way the hair was and everything I definitely don’t think it was the back of Mr. Robot’s head
I don’t mention Furlong in the review, and the tragedy I’m referring to happens in literally the first five minutes of the movie.
