Fair point, but I wonder if she actually had the instruction manual.

Umm, serious question here. How did your casual gamer GF figure out how to map controls?

and you miss.

How the hell do you strafe left while crouching (in games where crouch doesn't toggle)? Idk about you, but my thumb rests on Spacebar and my pinky on Shift, making them far better options.

You didn't answer my question.

May I ask how you can be certain that you'll never use it?

Skyrim sold extremely well on PC — enough to break the record for concurrent players. To answer your question though, it's both. By showing some love to the fans to make them happy, they're also assuring fan loyalty. That loyalty will help them sell more of their next games.

Yep, my feelings exactly. Played it two weeks ago.

By "original" he was referring to the source material.

Kinda hard to recreate, because those bugs were only present in the beta

My god. You might be the only person who's sad that it's not a GFWL game.

Evolution does not mean: ADD MORE ACTION AND MAKE HIM BE ABLE TO TRAVERSE LEDGES WITH RIDICULOUS SPEED.

I'll second what ExistentialEgg said. Conviction was a great action game, but it wasn't a Splinter Cell game AT ALL.

Because while I have no doubt in my mind that it'll be a great third person shooter, I have a lot of doubts regarding how good of a MAX PAYNE game it'll be.

3D Realms is a far smaller dev with far less money and resources. Valve is Valve.

It's not really reasonable. Valve is known as one of the most secretive developers ever. Any speculation regarding what their focus is, is just.... well, speculation.

The FPS franchise hasn't evolved, it has just... changed. I still consider HL2 to be better than any FPS released today. BioShock is a great FPS, but it didn't have anywhere near the impact that HL had. HL will be relevant as long as Valve is alive. It could take 10 years to release and people would still be "foaming

Who says the Half-Life movie has to be about Gordon Freeman?

The question is, why would you say that it's not relevant? I hope it's not because they haven't announced a new HL game.

What makes you think they don't? It's only been 4 years since the last HL game, and Valve has a "when it's done" mentality. HL2 took 6 years to release...
