I see what you did there.

So they churn this thing out, yet still refuse to make a new microbus.

*shrug*

If Raph was high, this would have an interesting article.

This is Raph.

I still maintain it was one of the best looking compact sedans ever built.

Boring? Beautiful. Simple, and elegant. I still love that generation of Jetta whenever I see one on the road. Sadly there aren’t many left running.

COTD.

They come reliable from the factory, but for some reason, every Subbie owner does their darndest to make them unreliable.

Don’t sweat it. It’s almost impossible to do smoothly on a daily basis. It’s easier when you’re driving balls out on a track

Heel-toe works on race cars with a pedal arrangement designed for it. On a typical passenger car with pedals spaced far enough apart to avoid “Audi 5000 accidental acceleration” it will be difficult unless you have size 13 shoes like me ;)

same here...i just give it a throttle blip

Maybe I’m just slow in this regard, but having driven manual cars for almost 25 years years, I still can’t heel-toe without jerky, abrupt crap happening.

You know you could skip reading COTD. We won’t miss you. At all.

Wow... would have never imagined that comment would have been liked so much and garnered a COTD, but here I am. Truthfully I feel a bit strange since I’m mostly a lurker but I appreciate the kind words.

oh great, we’re rewarding truth and logic instead of sass now?

Life’s too short to drive shitty cars.
