While there is a lot of artillery, it should be noted that the vast majority is 50s-60s vintage and its been sitting in hardened shelters for years. Its unlikely that the North, as poor as they are, wheels them out regularly for testing. My guess is that many of them will fire half a dozen rounds and break the recoil…

The BLU-82 “daisycutter” was also conventional. The difference between it and the MOAB is the explosive fill. MOAB uses comp H6, BLU-82 used ammonium nitrate and powdered aluminum in a slurry mix (basically a really thick liquid). Both were designed to airburst and produce a blast wave.
