Honestly, no. You would find it to be a welcome relief after working on the 300 ZX, no exaggeration there. The M62tu engine is a big and relatively simple 4.4L V8, with the only real flaw being the timing chain guides, oil leaks, and cooling system. Since you’re a savvy DIY’er, you could easily take care of all three…

Not to mention all the issues with the 3rd gen Tacomas that I see posted on Tacoma World. I was thinking of getting one, but that is really turning me off. Plus, rear drum brakes on a 30K+ new vehicle in 2018. WTF, Toyota?

Fifty grand+ after taxes for a 10 year old platform truck without even heated seats is an awfully hard sell. Toyota doesn’t seem to play the rebate game like the domestic brands do either, so no help there. It’ll last forever, yes, but it’ll cost you now upfront and as you own it with that horrific fuel economy.
