Picked up a bunch of Chris Hasting's run on Adventure Time, a new (at least to me) issue of Sensation Comics, and, of all things, a looney tunes issue. Haven't made my way through many of them.

I don't understand how the sober caveat is valid:
A. Who is Sober at 11:30pm and checking HBO in the mid-late 90s?
B. There is no Ven for who is discovering this as a DVD in the early 2000s and Sober Video Store Perusers.
My take would be that its a stylistic genre that imposes some structural concerns. I'd be more hesitant to set it up as having a purely hierarchical relationship to crime film, though it's difficult to conceive of noir as being capable of a strict distinction there.
