It’s bad enough it’s a gaming monopoly but even worse is that the games will all be subject to the oppressive Chinese entertainment censorship. The future is censored gaming for the Chinese market.

You know, we all share in the collective blame here, because we didn’t sufficiently support the floppy penis physics simulator. Imagine a world where that Conan game took off and their share prices had shot through the roof. Now, Tencent probably would have still been able to afford it, but would the deal have been…
But Mike, if your company isn’t growing, it’s dying. That is the way of modern capitalism on a corporate scale. You are no longer successful if you just make a profit and a quality product. You need to keep feeding those shareholders. They just keep getting hungrier every year.
Except that tencent also has a sizable share of the international movie business.
Who will Tencent buy next?
I don’t like contributing to the growth of massive companies that aren’t offering something new or unique to the consumer. It rings of the same heartlessness of Private Equity.
Haven’t watched the video yet, so maybe it talks about Fire Emblem, but I’ve always suspected they underestimate good things happening for the player in the raw numbers they display, in Three Houses at least. I think I’ve missed a 95% chance to hit maybe one time in 50+ hours of play.

That Decima Engine is really good. Sometimes I think about if BioWare had a chance to use that instead of Frostbite and then Mad World plays and I have to go have a lie down.
I don’t get it, oracle? They posted this on Twitter.
I will always and forever appreciate Kotaku’s commitment to not mince words in their headlines.
Your games of the decade retrospective was the best one I read. Keep swinging.
I posted at the Avocado for a while and even put some work into writing some articles there, but its just not the same. Plenty of fine people, but its missing the magical alchemy of the professional articles combined with a dedicated commenting community on a site that was still popular and public enough to have…
I have mixed feelings on Polygon, they have some good articles, but others are cringe-inducing propaganda, like one by that fool Owen that defended lootboxes of all things, there was also an article that was little more then an excerpt from developer Walt Williams book titled “Why I Love Crunch”, talk about being out…
Ok ok let’s get the facts straight first. They had a decent leg to stand on, legally, considering the tape had been public before and considering that they had won the case previously (IIRC they lost on appeal). Let’s also put the blame where it firmly belongs: Peter bloodsucking Thiel bankrolling the Hogan lawsuit…
shut da fuck up
Okay, stay with me here.
