I’m sensing you think this should have been two posts, not one. You might be right. Would have really hit the second-phase idea more effectively.

The Last of Us has the best ending of any game I’ve ever played, easy. And one of the best endings I’ve ever seen in just about any story (book, movie, or TV show) I can think of. (Which is one of the reasons I’m both excited for and really nervous about the sequel.)

Lynx

Hey now, don’t sully the good name of the Sega Nomad.  That thing was awesome.

Every game’s trying to be the only game you play. Even annual franchises like Assasin’s Creed. It’s just not sustainable.

Wow. I could not feel more different. I thought BotW did everything Witcher 3 tried to do, but did it well.

If anybody is wondering, The GaMERCaT ( http://www.thegamercat.com/ ) is back from their 6-month hiatus.  I know the strip was dropped during it’s downtime, but it might be time to re-add it, if the viewers are still interested.

That’s a huge reason why I’ve stuck with Destiny/Destiny 2 - no other shooter feels quite as smooth. That’s the only thing that kept me around during content droughts and the frustrating regression from Rise of Iron D1 to launch, and, later, Curse of Osiris Destiny 2.

Penny Arcade has seriously stepped up its game these last couple of months. Their output, which I view for free on an external website that they see no profit from, pleases me.

On the other side of the coin the gaming market wouldn’t be as big or prevalent without consoles. Plus, the longer consoles wait until they launch a new gen, the bigger the graphical leap when it does happen. Sony is also supposedly helping AMD with their new processor so if we get a Zen 2 in the ps5 I’d be pretty

What ... the fuck, did I just read

I just don’t think I’ve ever heard of a progressive, unmarried, child-free couple that wasn’t inundated with a metric ton of cats and dogs.

Although, on that note (and I know I’m going to catch shit for this), I always find it embarrassing as shit when someone tries substituting children with pets. Like... this person

“I am very socially progressive and I won’t even try to get along with conservatives” is probably a good way to get across that you’re not going to be nice to anyone’s racist uncle or whatever. You can, uh, leave out the part where you expect people to cut family members out of their lives, because that makes it sound

Dealbroken wants a socially progressive partner that doesn’t want to marry, have any children ever, and doesn’t want pets? That dude is going to die alone.

I don’t know if you’ve played Flinthook yet, but it’s even better than its pre-release coverage suggested. Excellent indie game, from the tight paltforming mechanics to the gorgeous pixel animation.

Let’s see... for starters: Blossom Tales, Celeste, Stardew Valley, and Shovel Knight are all just top-notch games. I also really enjoyed SteamWorld Dig 2 and, while it’s not an indie, Dragon Quest Builders has become one of my favorites.

Well, if they made Dragonflies instead of Lawbreakers they wouldn’t be bankrupt.

A message to game developers..... STOP CHASING FADS. NO, YOU ARE NOT THE NEXT CALL OF DUTY, NO YOU ARE NOT THE NEXT LEAGUE OF LEGENDS, NO YOU ARE NOT THE NEXT OVERWATCH, NO YOU ARE NOT THE NEXT MINECRAFT, NO YOU ARE NOT THE NEXT

They could create an API that provides anonymized data only, which would resolve the issue of trying to judge market performance without exposing individual users’ purchase history.

As amazing as Horizon and Zelda were, neither reached in terms of storytelling the way Neir did. Horizon was about polishing what we know to a razor-sharp shine and Zelda about reinventing the gameplay wheel of a beloved series.
