I think this is just super freestyle. I got into battle raps on YouTube for a while and it’s more slow and unpolished and there’s posturing between bars to buy time played as dramatic pauses. It’s more about how good your burns are.

That’s why it’s “freestyle.” It’s not polished and perfected, it’s raw and improvised off-the-cuff. That’s the point. Think of it more like improvisational jazz riffing, not traditional structured melody-and-beat.
