I imagine less a matter of absolute poverty and hunger than her being one of those elderly widows virtually every church pays to do little odd cleaning jobs here and there.

I find it frustrating that I have to read all the paragraphs of this article to understand what the full article is about? Why can’t the author craft each paragraph as a stand alone thought without the need of the context of the other paragraphs?
The first two Guardians movies were pretty much standalone. The team was separated from the rest of the MCU and Gunn made sure that both films stood on their own, even if GOTG 2 was definitely a sequel. Sadly, Infinity War and Endgame had major developments for the team that can’t be ignored.
I won’t be happy until they bring Hulu-Modok into the MCU proper.
“Letterboxing” refers to vertical black bars. “Pillarboxing” is the correct term for black bars on the sides of an image. Here endeth the lesson.
Ummm, Seinfeld has been in 16x9 for years now.
It’s “cool” and “hip” to pick on Pratt these days, but honestly the level of hostility on this is fucking baffling.
Anya would actually make sense if it was live-action because if she had her hair styled to look like Peach’s she’d look uncannily similar.
I mean, Pratt has success as a voice actor in a fairly similar sort of thing, the Lego movies. Assuming he can do the accent, it doesn’t seem that unreasonable. I’d pick on Anya Taylor-Joy over him as someone without voice acting bona fides.
Oh, I like Brie Larson as well, for me Carol Danvers is generally the fundamental problem. The reason I thought she worked here is that that blandness played off of Party!Thor really well.
What with Iron Man, Captain America and Peter Parker all being re-voiced in previous episodes, I can’t help but notice that there’s now a puzzling trend of male leads from the MCU not showing up on What If…?
No idea how this works, but I wonder if they recorded this while they were all in the same spot for Thor 4.
And you can’t undervalue that they got almost the entire cast of Thor Ragnorok to reprise their roles. Yeah this was at least a B for me.
Uh ... the scene of her waking up in the hotel room starts with a shot of Thor asleep on the couch. Then there’s a whole joke when she’s at the door talking to Maria and she claims she doesn’t know where he is, and he starts blathering on in the background about a rabbit in the sink.
I like that the Tundra shares quite a bit with its competitors, the same way you might share your wife with a friend. It seems weird, but it’s actually masculine and modern. In the world of design, you want to be a sponge, and just soak up all the details. Don’t wrestle with “what you should do” on design.
I’d highly recommend reading the article linked in this one. It’s a bit more thorough. This article is just a fucking hit piece that cherry picks the absolute worst takes on the whole situation.
Agree. Requiring masks outdoors at a show that requires vaccinations seems like a bit much
Honestly this feels like very ticky-tacky complaints. The Smash Mouth concert happened before anybody had been vaccinated. To get into Riot Fest you need to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test. The two events aren’t comparable.
I’d bet it’s just a trial to see if Jennings can pick up support once viewers get comfortable with the idea. The guest host wars must of been a nightmare for producers. In yesteryear, they relied on small focus groups. Now they have millions of tantrums in the twitter-verse shouting looney personal demands.
I am a hardcore comics nerd and I have NO IDEA how you pull the deep cuts you do. You have to have been following Marvel since the ‘60's, but even then.... to be able to pull the specific pages means you either own a comic book store or have a collection that borders on the miraculous. Are you basically the Watcher?
