I played it at E3. They only had a half-court session where you could dribble the ball and shoot around for fun, but what I saw, running on an Xbox One, was very impressive. It looked great, and the ball moved with a fluidity I haven't seen in basketball games before. Also, dribbling is hard now.
Because I'm stupid. But in all seriousness, spend a few hours reading about the controls: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ArmA:_Man…
The whole time I was like, "He just left all his toys in the cave" until... oh.
How do you make townsfolk more interesting? With good writing. A well written character will always seem more real than an actual human being who runs in circles and jumps on things up and down before idling, all without ever saying one word to you.
He's not joking when he says it's complicated. The game uses nearly every button on your keyboard. You have a button to pull up your compass, one for your map, another for your map, one to bandage wounds, one to crouch, one to go prone, one to sprint, two for leaning, etc. There's a ridiculous amount of controls to…
I dunno. The VITA actively got boo'd while people waited DAYS to check out the 3DS...
Was anyone expecting any different? I figured 1.5 mix this September, 2.5 mix next September, and KH 3 in September 2015.
It looks like my PC is finally starting to show wear. I've got the AMD 6950, which is 2GB. Still way up in the other cats, but my card is lagging behind now.
I've tried it, but I only use it on my phone and they make you pay for it there.
Color me intrigued. I've never moved on from Pandora, but if this works well enough, I'd be willing to upgrade.
The Wii U will run third the entire time. It's seen the largest drop off in sales of pretty much any console ever. 60% of it's business was done in the first 6 weeks from launch and it's seen only a handful of game releases. when it drops to $250 in 2014 it will become the "second system" you have, much like the Wii…
Look who shared it. Evan was just really psyched I pegged him as next EiC.
I think there will be a point when MS is buying up exclusives near the start and we'll see a larger quantity there of exclusives, or at least widely timed exclusives. Sony will certainly have more in the end.
Following current trends, Microsoft has had more robust libraries of exclusives while Sony plays the long game, releasing exclusives well into the life of the next console. The PS4 will undoubtedly have more exclusives in the end, but I believe the One will start stronger.
Tell Crecente to hire me when you make the transfer. I'm tired of admiring his hair from afar at the E3 pressers.
Owen Good stayed at Kotaku for a while. His role was expanded greatly in 2015, but after the EA flooded the market with more diversified sports titles and integrated them with live TV, went back to being a sports writer when he was hired as EiC of ESPN's new videogame reporting division.
The Wii U has been a big bust in 2013, but it did very well in 2012. 6 Weeks in America and it sold 890k units and 636k in Japan, ~3 mil world wide. The 3DS sold 3.5 million units in its first four weeks. As long as they can keep the systems supplied, the worldwide sales will happen for the PS4. I don't think it's…
Only 1 mil more than the Wii U did in it's launch season?
My call: The PS4 will sell ~4 million units by Christmas. The Xbox One will push ~2.5 mil. In the first year, the PS4 will be a pretty clear front runner, moving ~11 mil while One struggles to break 10 mil total by Christmas 2014. The first redesign will come in August of 2015, the Xbox One being made smaller and…
