Even if it looked good, I think the game still would have been a mess. The story made no sense, the V.O.s were terrible, and the guns were not fun to use.

If the physics engine is calculating the motion of the ropes, the objects they're holding, and where the rain is hitting said objects, it seems like it could have to a lot of calculations. Hard to see how they missed this incident in testing though.
I know what happened to Eidos and their subsidiaries, but much of their management structure has managed to stay intact with Square taking on more of the position of a publisher than parent company. CD made the game, but the management teams they reported to were a step removed from SE. It was the same with Hitman:…
Eidos did Tomb Raider, and so far the reviews are fantastic.
For the past four years, GameStop's policy has been to order 1.5 copies for every preorder. So if your store has 100 preorders, they'll get 150 copies. This generally is enough to hold stores over for the two days between initial shipment and restocking shipments. The only time the employees should be looking at you…
I really like the Fire Emblem DLC for the maps, but the character cars just seem like a waste to me. The characters they add all have limited functionality since they can't pair up with team mates, build relationships, or have conversations with the other characters. They all just sit in my character inventory until I…
Fo be fair, she's never actually presented that way in the game.
So I've been trying to think of a way for a company to take this approach that makes sense for the company while still offering a benefit to gamers. The big hitch I keep coming too is that the companies are already making $60 per customer, so why lower the price? It would have to be enough of a change to entice more…
Probably not as in depth, but the people who made that My Little Pony fighter made a pretty great looking game from the ground up for free.
At least it's more than minimum wage...
I think it's the same with any industry. Look at films, people are blown away by movies having $250mil+ budgets and say it's "to pay all the actors" when in reality that's less than 10% of the budget.
Sony has wiggleroom, they don't need to launch at $299. The PS3 currently retails at that price and people are buying them new all the time. And people expect a bit of a price hike for a new system, so even if they launch at $399, the public perception will be that it is very affordable.
I was fine with it being in my games until: Anno 2033. There was some problem with the game that if opened through Steam, the game would never be able to connect to the uPlay servers, so I couldn't get into the game I paid (full price) for because it thought I was pirate. I ended up having to download a crack just to…
It's three comment links deep, in response to a man asking explicitly what happens, and past five lines of the word SPOILERS in all caps. I think if someone read that it could hardly be considered a "mistake".
SPOILERS
Semi-spoilers: Season 3 will end with the Red Wedding. It's Part 9, and part 10 will be all aftermath (much like the last two seasons). The second half of the book will be in season 4.
I don't get why people list this game with some of the other vaporware. I mean, it's been a while since they announced this game, but it's not a ridiculous amount of time like some other games. The announced this at E3 in '09. We'll be coming up on 4 years this summer. To compare it some of the other games people…
The first mention of it was in 2009.
I'd imagine even longer for Sony's internal studios.
To take a look at the past; this is almost the exact same thing MS did with the 360, and Sony ended up getting burned by waiting. Might end up the same for Microsoft.
