So thrilled for them both, especially Grant!!

I’m pretty delighted to see Richard E. Grant and Melissa McCarthy nominated for Can You Ever Forgive Me?. I very much enjoyed them in that, and wasn’t sure that movie was going to go very far in the awards circuit.

The one man show he did in season 2 was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV.

The Grey Gardens parody they did still has me laughing, thinking of it.  Bill Hader/Lil Edie plunging through the ceiling, gawd.

very excited about the sondheim episode

Oh man, she is great in Slings and Arrows. It’s good for her she got Mean Girls and all but I sort of wish she had stuck around for another season.

I appreciate the attention given to her line read of “Oh no, he died!”, as it had me rolling with laughter for several minutes.

👋👋 Great job!

Shine on you sassy broad! I saw her perform Hello Dolly in Hartford, back in the late 90s. At the end she got a standing ovation, and she started chatting with the audience, thanking them, talking about how many times she had played the part, until she eventually said look at me, just chatting away while you’re all

Glenn Close is a class act. Given her amazing career filled with many Oscar-worthy performances and the general disregard the awarding institutions have thrown her way (mostly thinking of the Oscars here), if I were in her shoes I might be a tiny bit annoyed to share an acting award with someone who is great at

I think Amy Adams deserves all the awards for Sharp Objects so I’m fine with the tie with Arquette since she lost to Arquette at the Golden Globes.

The internet in general and Kinja in particular have very strong views on the order of the Best Chrises. It is a thing that is known. So I can’t even fathom what it would feel like to get engaged to the universally acknowledged Worst Chris, who is Worst Chris by a substantial margin.

Read the headline and thought it was referring to Benedict Cumberbatch. Was more than confused about why Black Mirror would go after him. Ive seen so many stupid nicknames for that guy Ive literally tilted my head trying to figure out who was being written about.

Like many people on here, it was great to see this in print and really be able to identify with this character’s experience. One thing that has been difficult for me to put into words during the #metoo era is how to explain how you can still feel victimized even when you’ve never been technically assaulted. There are

SAME. Oh my god I feel you. I have been in even longer relationships with people I could barely tolerate. “...sending him a text telling him that I wasn’t interested was SO hard for me and seemed to defy every law of nature in my brain.” YES. And it’s so weird because, in general, I’m the type of person my friends and

I just read it for the first time after seeing this post. Never in my life have I read something so true and honest and identical to the way I feel about fucking ANYTHING. I’m blown away.

When another commenter suggested/linked to Cat Person the other day, I immediately read it and — unlike anything I’ve ever come across in 40+ years — it suckerpunched me right in the gut. YES. Just YES. She so accurately described the nuances of such situations. I get chills just thinking about it. Literally having

The exercise bit is the best part of the whole movie. That and the illegal sleeping pills.
