If you not master your rage...”

Julia Roberts can spend the rest of her life posting photos of herself wearing t-shirts with messages on them, but they only make me remember the OG t-shirt:

Macy is so damn great in this. As Tom notes, Stiller is hilarious as a parody of a dark hero but Macy is a repudiation and mockery of trauma as heroic necessity - he’s just a nice guy with one skill who wants to do more to help people - and while his earnestness is funny it’s never wrong and Macy doesn’t condescend to

To make Mystery Men and enjoyable movie, you must first enjoy the movie that is a mystery.

Egg salad.  Loaded with cholesterol.  The wife won’t even let him eat it.  But that doesn’t seem to matter now.

his inspirational speech about a ham sandwich was good.

I just want to be happy for Ariana and Pete, but I’m mostly confused by them.

The Kansas City Bomber was a roller derby movie with Raquel Welch. It’s a fine film.

Really? I laughed in surprise because it was unexpected. I think that’s what the creator was going for.

The roller derby movie starring Ellen Page, Whip It, was surprisingly good. Based on a novel called Derby Girl (also good). Drew Barrymore directed it, and has a small part, and I am pretty sure that NPR’s Alex Cohen was a consultant.

I’d like to see Hawkeye spend an afternoon running errands, shot in one continuous take, directed by Richard Linklater.

Haweye and his wife toil away at the farm; one of the kids becomes friends with a rat; another kid falls off a horse; Natasha shows up for dinner.

NGL, that Playmobil burn is GOLD.

“When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried Ariana Grande.”

that’s not a Kennedy, but rather an unholy union of Sean Penn and David Duchovny wearing Jonathan Franzen’s favorite shirt
