It’s not as striking in front of the flower wall, but I thought Christine Baranski looked so classy and sharp when she was presenting that I almost considered NOT immediately cancelling my CBS All-Access pass so I could watch more of her in The Good Lawyer (there seemed to be some kind of fan onstage blowing her hair

Baby Mama is a great lazy weekend afternoon movie — you can tell Amy Poehler was having a great time playing that character, and I thought she was the perfect mix of scummy and sweet (plus Steve Martin cracked me up as the zen CEO).

I never realized what a cutie Brian Tyree Henry is! Love his smile!

The Boys in the Band boys look sharp AF...also reminded me of this:

Hey, I think I know that IHOP in the photo! Is it the one on Diversey in Chicago near Logan Square? Or are there just a lot of IHOPs in America that happen to be next to Popeyes?

I think that’s why I liked Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them more than any other Harry Potter movie — the plot wasn’t anything extraordinary, but it was the first time I got to be surprised and delighted by a HP film instead of anticipating every moment of action.

I hope next year they go in the opposite direction and the hosts are everyone’s favorite closedhearted Broadway snobs, Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland (I’m still angry they didn’t get to present the year they did Oh Hello on Broadway).

SAME...I read plays all the time, but for some reason I haven’t been able to get into this one? Maybe it’s because so much of what I liked/found comforting about the Harry Potter books wasn’t the dialogue but the descriptions? I want to give it a go because I probably won’t be heading to NYC for this, although I’m

This reminds me of John Mulaney’s amazing bit about Bill Clinton at the end of his comedy special The Comeback Kid — “...He’s all thin now, and he wears these little tight suits, and he’s got these grandpa reading glasses, like, ‘Hey, I can’t do nothing to nobody no more.’ ‘Oh, me? I’m just an old, old man. I don’t

Oh totally, that’s a good point — but while I can’t speak to the relative qualifications of Monica Lewinsky, I guess I was just glad to see a woman speaking up in support of another woman rather than letting the men do all the talking on the issue.

I thought the gay daughter’s plotline was especially well-done...loved the characterization of both her nerdy dude date (I TOTALLY knew that guy in high school) and her cape-clad crush. The light fantasy element felt very fun and sweet and perfectly communicated her emotions.

Props to Colbert, and also to Tig Notaro for making a point during her segment to acknowledge Monica Lewinsky as a person, not just “that woman.”

I was surprised how much I enjoyed Blockers — it had a lot of heart and the younger actors were all really good.

Cooke Maroney, brother of Jenna Maroney?

Everyone should watch the 2002 documentary Spellbound about the National Spelling Bee — it’s so good and heartwarming and hilarious.

You’re wrong, J.Lo.

It was the perfect summer ’95 movie if you were still a little too young for Clueless.

Now playing

you want a BOP listen to the closing credits song from the film...it is the very essence of 90s girldom

She’s a boss.
