Unfortunately, that doesn't appeal to the mainstream gaming crowd, as well as a fair bit of every other sub-section of the gaming crowd. I'd freaking love it. Social interactions that are actually good in a game are leagues better than a good combat system, for me. It shows more effort, in my opinion.

I'll throw my hat into the ring and say that, aside from Soul Calibur, pretty much no 3D fighter takes advantage of being 3D. Every other one is just sidestepping to dodge, something 2D fighters have with jumping. 3D fighters are... dull.
