The other Netflix show “Outer Banks” had an—admittedly smaller—similar problem with ~28 year olds playing High School juniors by 2021. At the end of that season they just threw in a random 18 month time jump so at least the 28 year olds are playing young adults now.

I don’t think they are unbelievable at all as “teenagers”. 2 of them literally are still teenagers. But they became unbelievable as 8th graders.

FWIW, I have never had to restart and fast-forward an Apple TV show after leaving it paused for 5, 10, 30 minutes. I use the app version that installs to Samsung TV.
