Battle Network is an rpg style game. You run around as a schoolkid named Lan and can connect to the network in different places. When you connect to the network, you then control Megaman (who’s like a digital assistant). Then you run around the network and have random encounters and as the story goes on, fight bosses.
I wonder, if there aren’t any leaves on the ground, you can’t use that one spinny move.

I get your point, but there’s also the issue that lots of people go into these games never intending to spend money and then at some point they start to spend money (like me. I spent money on Dragalia Lost and KOF AS. Not a lot, but still, I caved, y’know?).
The closest I ever had to that was working at a Natural Wonders store during summers.
Just... try to picture how incredibly unpopular a game would have to be for a boss to only have been killed ~80 times.
On top of other multiple issues and concerns I have, the guy’s whole concept also requires that people just not be assholes, doesn’t it? Or at least that no one ever has a disagreement or falling out?
